VILLAGES

Tuscany Villages to visit: Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci

In the cradle of Etruscan culture, the numerous villages that are so characteristic for Tuscany today, flourished in the Middle Ages.

The hills behind the resort are dominated by the village of CASTAGNETO CARDUCCI. The name of the village expresses the admiration for Giosuè Carducci, the Italian poet of the 19th century who grew up in this region.

If you drive further north along the famous "Viale dei Cipressi", you will reach the impressive city walls of BOLGHERI. The small hamlet is full of surprises with its antique shops that still cultivate arts and crafts, as well as taverns and wine shops.

All other villages in the heart of Tuscany are easily accessible. VOLTERRA, SAN GIMIGNANO, PITIGLIANO and MASSA MARITTIMA are among the most famous towns that are particularly appealing to fans of Medieval and Renaissance culture.

From the hills of the Tuscan countryside in CASALE MARITTIMO and MONTESCUDAIO you have a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea.
